Cover the present and future water demands and secure a reliable and safe drinking water supply to the population of Pristina and surrounding municipalities
Investments for water supply and sanitation in Prishtina and capacity building measures to support the Regional Water Company Prishtina in three phases. Phase I and II of the programme with an amount of 14 Mio EUR comprising of investments towards improvement of existing water supply and sewage disposal and efficiency increase are currently under implementation. Additionally to the Financial Cooperation Funds, co-financing administered by KfW was provided by the European Commission amounting to 11 million Euro for Phase II of the Programme. Furthermore, Phase III amounting up to 20 Mio EUR development loan is under preparation. This phase would make accessible a new water source for Prishtina, and would comprise construction of a new water treatment plant, the corresponding reservoir, pumping stations and transmission lines to Prishtina.
The program is cofinanced with ECLO European Commission Liassion Office with IPA 2010 with EUR 5 MIO, Kosovo Goverment with EUR 5 Mio and Prishtina Municipality EUR 5 MIO.
