A multiethnic project aiming to organize winter sports activities of International standards, and cultural events, to attract visitor and competitor  to the Ski Centre Brezovica, Strpce, thus suport/promote Kosovo's natural and touristic resources. SCARDUS's goal is to create opportunities for multilateral exchange through sports, culture and outdoor activities thus strengthen regional cooperation

The project is divided in two pillars: SKI AND SNOWBOARD COMPETITIONS and  CULTURE EVENTS.

COMPETITIONS

SCARDUS will organize three ski and snowboard competitions.

1. PARALEL SLALOM – an international competition for skiers open for local, regional and international contestants. Day 1 - for preparation, training and qualifications of contestants. Qualified contestants compete on day 2 for first three prizes. Organized in collaboration with Kosovo Ski Federation it will take place March 2nd and 3rd.

2. SBX Brezovica 2013 – two competitions

- SNOWBOARD AND SKI CROSS – the third edition of winter sports international race in Kosovo. It expects a turnout of around 70 local, regional and international participants, for each discipline. It will take place March 8th - 10th. Qualified contestants compete for three first prizes.

CULTURE EVENTS

As specified and required by International Ski Federation, all winter sport activities will be followed by musical performances of DJ's and bands from Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania. There will two stages: an outdoor stage for DJ’s and bands performing throughout the day/competition; an indoor stage for concerts of music bands and DJ performance at night.

Expected results are: to place SBX Competition on the Worlds Winter Sports Competitions Calendar; to establish a world known winter sports competitions approved by International Ski Federation; promote development of winter sports in Kosovo; promote Kosovo’s natural resources; establish joint interest between citizens of different nationalities by developing local municipal economy and the economy of private businesses present at the Ski Centre Brezovica.
