Objectives: 

Description: 

The goal of USAID’s Growth and Fiscal Stability Initiative is to support key economic ministries and municipalities to stimulate the private sector.

Beneficiaries:

  • GFSI played a crucial role in assisting the government in entering into a Stand-by Arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) valued at approximately 106 million Euros
  • Program assisted Peja municipal officials in successfully concluding first Municipal Private Public Partnership (PPP) in Kosovo. The Peja urban bus PPP was launched in May 2012
  • As a result of GFSI assistance to municipal public financial management, 16 municipalities received unqualified audits in 2011
  • Program supported establishment of the National Council on Economic Development (NCED), which has responsibility for monitoring implementation of the government of Kosovo’s economic development priorities and developing policy measures that promote economic growth.
